Part-Time Snow Removal Equipment/Truck Operator
Core Duties
Plowing and Salting: Operates trucks equipped with snow plows and sand/salt spreaders on assigned town routes.
Equipment Maintenance: Performs pre- and post-trip safety inspections of vehicles, hydraulic systems, and plow blades.
Manual Labor: Assists with shoveling, clearing signs, or general highway maintenance yard tasks when not plowing.
Emergency Response: Responds immediately to call-outs during day or night winter storms, often working irregular or extended hours
Requirements and Qualifications
Driver’s License: Valid New York State Commercial Driver's License. CDL Class B minimum is typically required for large town plow trucks.
Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
Availability: Must work on an on-call, flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Fitness: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and tolerate working in severe cold and adverse weather conditions.
